Welcome to Our Play's Web Site!

The plan is that a Play for Thornbury will be created in the year in Thornbury, by Thornbury - for Thornbury.

The play will be:

Conceived
Created
Written
Performed

by the people of the Town; it will draw its inspiration and cast from the town; it will feature music from the town and it will be set in a variety of locations around the Town.

Nearly all old towns in England have an rich past from which to draw material to form the basis of drama - as a means to tell a part of the town's story - but few towns can claim to have all  the attributes that we have here in our home town.

Wherever we live, it is easy to take for granted the familiar that we can see or walk by every day and yet, if someone takes the trouble to make you stop, just briefly and look then it can be surprising what is actually visible.  The past is all around.

Inevitably, much of the detail of the play cannot be revealed at this stage for the worthy reason that the details do not exist.
It is hoped that this site will remain as a 'live' web site until after the production has taken place as a focus for those who are involved in the Play and others who are interested in finding out more about it's progress.
